PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The University of Nebraska Medical Center Stanley M. Truhlsen Eye Institute is a world-class facility that integrates clinicians, researchers, and patients into one state-of-the-art facility. The Stanley M. Truhlsen Eye Institute serves patients with the latest specialized care techniques and diagnostic medicine. Program areas include outpatient eye exam facilities for all ophthalmic subspecialties, a children’s eye care center, clinic research, and a regional diagnostic center.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
- A robust telecommunications system with Category 6A cabling was designed for telecommunication services, including voice, data, and wireless technologies now and in the future.
- An electronic access control system was designed to provide secure access to the building’s main entrances and several key programmatic spaces.
- IP-based video surveillance cameras were placed at strategic locations in the facility and connected to the university’s video management system.
- Audiovisual equipment has been specified within a lecture room and meeting spaces to provide distance learning and web conferencing in addition to support of interactive displays.
