Jessica first went into the University of Nebraska—Lincoln’s architectural engineering program to pursue mechanical engineering; however, one acoustics presentation changed the course of her education and career. Soon after, the University brought acoustics into its program and Jessica began working for her acoustics professor, learning even more about the field. As she worked in the industry after graduation, she realized there is a natural connection between acoustics and audiovisual, leading her to pursue this area, as well.

Jessica enjoys having opportunities to continually learn and grow in this ever-changing industry and to pass that knowledge onto others. In fact, she finds the most impactful projects to be the ones that don’t go as planned because they provide a way to learn and better herself and her designs. Now an associate principal at IP Design Group, Jessica has translated her experience into leadership.

Technology continues to become a bigger and bigger part of our day-to-day routines. Jessica recognizes this and incorporates it into her designs so that spaces are easy to use and integrate into the environment in which they are being designed. This not only benefits technology users today, but makes buildings more adaptable to future technologies still being developed.
