For Steve, audiovisual technology has been a lifelong pursuit. Growing up, his family owned a television and electronics sales and service company – his grandfather working sales while his father serviced the electronics. Watching and learning, by high school Steve was a teacher’s assistant for two electronics classes. He then became an installer for several integration firms before eventually working his way into design and technology consulting.

Steve finds the ever-changing landscape of audiovisual technology to be exciting because it pushes him to continually learn. Learning is one of his passions, which is one of the reasons designing audiovisual technology for educational spaces is so rewarding for him. It has led him to design systems for remote-learning, large-venue lecture halls, medical simulation spaces, content creation studios, and technology enhanced conference centers. He enjoys being able to use cutting-edge technology to help students increase understanding and retention.

With over 20 years of experience, Steve has seen technology systems advance and adapt from analog to digital. Starting over a decade ago, he saw digital technology begin to take the next step with internet protocol (IP) solutions bringing audio, video, and control together. Steve continues to be on the leading edge of this latest technology shift, beta-testing emerging technologies for potential issues, solutions, and future applications.
