PROJECT DESCRIPTION
At-risk children who do not receive a high-quality early childhood education are 60% more likely not to attend college and 25% more likely to drop out of school. Omaha’s Early Learning Center at Skinner is a research-based program seeking to improve those statistics by cultivating abilities like self-control and self-regulation. The Center brings year-round, high-quality early childhood programming to the North Omaha area.
The Center features 12 classrooms for children 0-3 years old, four flexible classrooms, interior play, multipurpose play, a fully equipped commercial kitchen, a storm shelter, areas for administration, observation, consultation, and a teacher lounge/resource room.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
- The facility received a complete data and voice communications structured cabling system, including raceways, cable trays, cable, patch panels, cable management hardware, and universal jacks.
- The Center also received a complete perimeter security and access control wiring system, including raceways, door contacts, electric locks, motion sensors, request-to-exit sensors and buttons, card/key fob readers, cable, equipment panels, and remote monitoring capabilities.
