For our teams to best serve our clients and the projects on which we work, we believe it is imperative that the staff who begin a project are there with our clients at the end of the project. Our approach provides consistency and reliability throughout the project, which allows our design team leadership to develop an intimate understanding of the client’s project requirements, ensuring that the solutions we develop are the right solution for the client’s mission.

At Alvine, we work on projects of all sizes across a spectrum of market sectors throughout the United States and abroad. The variety of our portfolio is a testament to the strong relationships we build with our clients, as our client’s variety of projects has created a diversity of experience within our portfolio. Our primary goal is to be a trusted advisor and partner to our clients through the many and varied projects they imagine.

Who We Are

Our staff thrives in a team-oriented environment based on our belief that we are “better together, working in collaboration.” As professional engineers and consultants, we are honest communicators and curious. We understand we must be astute learners of our craft while keeping rooted in the words of President Theodore Roosevelt: “No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.” Our firm is guided by the following three values which are core to who we are and how we work.

Be Humble

The systems we design are intended to enhance the architecture of the building, not to be the focal point. The systems we design can’t simply be what we prefer but rather must meet the unique requirements of our client’s projects. It is not our name on the building, therefore it is our responsibility to serve our clients and to help our clients achieve their vision. We strive to have the mindset to be in service of others and understand that success is never achieved alone.

Be Excellent

Raymond G. Alvine founded this firm on the premise of excellence. Ray’s statement was quite simple: “Our Goal is Not to be the Biggest, but to Be the Best.” Still, to this day, we embody Ray’s mantra in all that we do. We believe being excellent requires a thirst for continuous learning and a relentless pursuit to develop client-specific solutions. Striving for excellence allows us to build relationships in which we become trusted advisors, often resulting in clients considering us extensions of their internal staff. This is achieved through these characteristics:

• Having an intimate understanding of the systems we design and a willingness to consider new, innovative solutions – “Be willing to color outside the lines.”
• Understanding why our design is the right solution for the project with the ability to communicate how our solutions align with owner’s project requirements
• Knowing how our design will be built and the impact our design has on other disciplines and trades.
